Statement Of Aims:
My television programme is going to be a comedy about two married couples who decide to start secretly seeing each other's partners.
Each marriage continues to go well without anyone mentioning the infidelity, despite the overwhelming, crazy events that happen throughout the programme.
It is a comedy drama which attracts audiences of all ages, this is because it is very humorous and most age groups enjoy a laugh during a programme, this allows me to target an audience of people from ages 30 to 49 which would be considered 'reformers' or 'explorers'.
The programme has many parts which relate to the everyday life of people over their 20's, in the style of living which the characters have.
Many people in the audience could also relate to the infidelity going on in the programme as they may have also experienced it in a past or current relationship, creating a greater interest for many people whilst watching.
The characters in my programme are university students in their early twenties. They are average middle-class couples with rich parents who have a decent amount of money and live in nice houses in Kensington, London.
The actors I am going to use are going to be around 17 to 18 years old, though I am going to work closely with the clothes they wear to assure that they appear a bit older and fit all of the characteristics needed to look posh and middle-classed.
The characters do not act posh, but they have polite manners and personalities.
I think the audience would be interested in my programme because it is humorous and appealing to audiences of all ages. It is very entertaining and wouldn't leave the audience feeling unsatisfied, but I think it would leave them wanting a sequel to find out what happens next. I am sure I want to end it with some sort of cliff hanger so that the audience is furthermore eager to want to know more about the programme and want a fairytale ending, even if that is unrealistic.
My programme is going to be broadcasted on Netflix as it is a platform which includes audiences of all ages worldwide. Netflix is very famous and has very high ratings from all audiences which gives my programme a bigger chance of success and gaining wider audiences.
I have chosen Tiger Aspect Productions, a British television and film production company, as it is particularly noted for its situation comedy which my programme fits in perfectly with as a comedy drama. The production was founded in 1988 by Peter Benett-Jones and has included popular hits such as Mr. Bean which was a worldwide success.
Front Cover
My front cover for the DVD/blue-ray is going to be of my characters sitting on a bench in couples with their backs showing. One man and one woman from each couple and grasping each other's hands secretly behind the bench, which states that they are cheating or something is going on.
The title of the programme is going to the in bold at the centre of the screen so it is clear and evident to the viewers, possibly in red or green to symbolise love and envy or jealousy.
In the bottom of the cover in the centre will be the production company's name with 5 stars just below it from a famous newspaper to make sure I can draw in as many target audiences as I can with a positive review, needless to put others as that is enough.
The release date is going to be in the centre of the page at the very top, significantly smaller than the title but in an appealing font which will fit in well with the cover.
